Simon Neal : Youngers Clip – A Confession

Simon Neal is an award winning director of TV comedy, drama, commercials and content. Simon’s first advert won him a Cannes Lion and the Best New Director Award at the British Arrows.

His short film, WASHDAYS, played at over 20 international film festivals, winning Best Film at Rushes Soho Shorts, Special Jury prize at Austin. and a Best Short nomination at the British Independent Film Awards.

Simon moved into TV via COMING UP, Channel 4’s prestigious new talent showcase. His film DOUGHNUTS was given a five star review by Time Out and was ‘Pick Of The Day’ in The Guardian, The Sun and Metro newspapers.

He went on to direct the acclaimed comedy drama YOUNGERS, again for Channel 4. All eight episodes were The Guardian’s ‘Pick Of The Day’. The Observer described the show as ‘Tender, topical, truthful. A gem’.

His spoken word film, RUE BOY, was broadcast by Channel 4 in 2016 and is currently in development with them as a series.

Simon recently directed season 2 of the BAFTA winning sitcom CHEWING GUM. Described as “Hilarious… Achingly relatable” by The New Statesman and “Magnificently filthy wit” by The Evening Standard, it was proclaimed by The Guardian to be “The future of comedy”, no less.
