Martin is an extraordinary talent. That’s not just us saying so…The BAFTA’s, the Toronto, Berlin, Edinburgh, Tiburon and Raindance international film festivals all seem to think so too. There’s a lot of guff going round these days about storytelling but this guy is a REAL filmmaker. He has several feature projects in the mix and a stupid number of gongs to his name. His Knife Crime film for the Scottish Government won the Gold Award at the 2016 Roses Awards, and he’s made films for the NHS, Police Scotland, Stolichnaya and a host of banks including RBS, Clydesdale, Yorkshire, Natwest and Williams & Glyn. He’s the real thing. One of the things that distinguishes his work (quite apart from the visceral, energetic way it is all envisaged and delivered), is his passion for casting outside the shallow pools of talent that populate our screens. Martin thrives on casting real people from real environments and that is one of the characteristics that describes his work as distinctive and truly original. His obsession with delivering credible, compelling narratives makes him a fascinating director. Work with him…he’s amazing.
